How the method works

Every liquid Indian stock, the same written rules, after every close — snapshot 2026-09-04.

KALMAT looks for stocks resting in tight price bases under a repeated ceiling, breaking out on expanding volume while stronger than most of the market, then follows each breakout to its exit — a hard stop or a close back under the 50-day average. Wins and failures are both published.

  1. All tracked — 2976 every listing we watch nightly
  2. Liquidity — 1106 at least ₹500 crore of market value and ₹5 crore traded a day (50-session median)
  3. Trend — 426 above a rising long-term average
  4. Leadership — 250 stronger than ~70% of the market over the past year
  5. In a tight base and breaking out — a handful / day a repeated ceiling, contracting swings, drying volume
  6. Actually held — ≤ 5 best few by relative strength; risk capped per trade

About us

Indian equities · rules only

KALMAT scans every liquid Indian stock after each market close — around a thousand names that clear a real liquidity floor — and applies the same written rules to all of them: tight price bases, breakouts, relative strength versus the whole market, sector rotation and market breadth. No tips, no targets, no discretion.

Rules, not opinions

Every screen is a written rule applied the same way to every stock, every day. If a setup fails, the failure is published next to the wins.

Evidence first

A multi-year simulated track record and a backtest lab show how the rules would have behaved — hypothetical, before costs, with a survivorship-bias caveat.

Free & educational

KALMAT Screener provides screening, charting and analytics for information and education only. KALMAT is not registered with SEBI in any capacity and does not provide investment advice, portfolio management or research recommendations.

Nothing on this site is a recommendation, solicitation or offer to buy or sell any security. Verdicts such as “breakout” or “leader” are mechanical labels produced by fixed rules, not opinions about future returns.

All backtested and simulated results are hypothetical: computed after the fact, before brokerage, slippage and taxes, and subject to survivorship bias despite our efforts to include delisted names. Past results — real or simulated — do not predict future returns.

Data can contain errors or gaps; unknown values are shown as unknown, never guessed. Trading equities involves substantial risk of loss. You alone are responsible for your decisions; consult a SEBI-registered adviser before acting. The service is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind.
